2015 Kayak Instruction
Kayaking is pure fun and it can be as relaxing or challenging as you make it...from a quiet afternoon on a scenic pond to a hair raising plunge over a waterfall - you need to start somewhere to learn the basics! This summer the Billings Parks and Recreation Department and Sunshine Sports have teamed up to help you get started with professional instruction in the safety of the South Park Pool. This course, using the latest ACA teaching methods, is designed for beginners or those who wish to develop better paddling skills. A pool is an ideal setting for a first time kayaking experience because it is a controlled environment. Kayak, skirting, and paddles are supplied,
but it is recommended that you bring a snorkeling mask or nose plugs. Aqua or kayaking shoes may be helpful as the kayak footbrace may be uncomfortable to bare feet. Upon registration we need your height, weight, shoe size and waist size to prepare size appropriate kayak gear and equipment. No cancellations or refunds will be honored within 7 days of the start of each session.
