The 8.8-mile run opens south of Red Lodge, Montana, on Highway 212, high in the majestic rugged Beartooth Mountains. Bikers take over amid cheers in midtown historic Red Lodge, riding 43 highway miles through farm and ranch country to Riverside Park. There, south of Laurel, Montana, kayakers and canoeists push off to 22 miles on the wild and scenic Yellowstone River, the last of America's undammed natural waterways.
