The Side Kick bent shaft is an all-river play paddle with a great feel and excellent handling. It features a proprietary neutral bent shaft that not only offers comfort, but also is a stable leverage point during forward, reverse, and vertical moves. Its downward tilting blades give great initial power in forward and reverse strokes with immediate response to loading and unloading on command. This makes it well suited for pulling off the latest freestyle moves while the full sized blade area offers a powerful stroke for creek boating. Each paddle is made through a pressure molding process that has proven to be superior in creating the right balance between weight and durability. The Side Kick bent shaft features composite fiberglass blades and a carbon shaft built with epoxy resins. This reliable construction creates unprecedented durability.
Available in Standard and Small Shaft: Werner is the first manufacturer to offer two shaft sizes, standard and small diameter, in both straight and neutral bent shafts. Why offer two choices? One size shaft does not work best for all hand sizes. A shaft diameter that is properly fit allows a paddler to maintain a light grip, thus reducing fatique and increasing comfort and control. Measure your hand from the base of the palm to the tip of your middle finger. If your measurement is 6 1/4" or smaller we recommend going with the small shaft.
