The i:3 - Pyranha's mainstream WW River Running / River Play design for 2003 - is an innovative and progressive design, born through incorporating logical evolution from proven freestyle (S Series) and river running (Ina Zones) designs with the very latest in forward thinking from the experienced & proven Pyranha Team. Combined with the latest materials and manufacturing techniques, this ensures that the i:3 is a serious, no nonsense river running play boat with exceptional internal comfort and control.

Three models - the 221, 222 and 223 - give the i:3 the ability to fit 99% of paddlers with a boat that performs ergonomically for any size of paddler. Lighter paddlers and the smaller ladies will especially appreciate the 221's narrower hull and volume.

Playful Hull design: the i3's hull is a river running evolution from the S8 play boat allowing it to be used to its full potential while playing every feature on the river but without losing the confident and responsive feel required while river running. Good bow rocker lift¹s the i3 over turbulent water ensuring that the deck stays unloaded combined with a moderate tail rocker and a swallow tail that enables amazing speed and carving for such a short river kayak which enable it to still perform modern dynamic moves.

Progressive volume distribution: in trim critical areas allow the i3¹s to handle strong river features and boof small to medium drops with ease. Combined with slicy controllable end sections that ensure that the switch from river running to play is smooth and predictable.

Advanced speed gills: Allow for smooth release while playing but still maintains a crisp carvining rail which allows the i3 to maintain great speed and give impressive directional stability for a boat of its length.

Syncro 4D Outfitting: Synchronized control, combining the following four components:

Core Freestyle and Freeride seats: The core of the Syncro system is the seat unit. A redesigned ergonomic, padded ABS seat unit fully supports the paddler and assist energy transmission in to the hull and allows feedback from the boat. Incorporates fast tool free adjustment allowing for quick changes to trim of the kayak riverside, enabling gear to be easily carried or different performance set-ups to be tried out.

Hooker Thigh Grips: Allowing paddlers the choice to have their control from the thigh or further up the leg. An ergonomic thigh hook can be rotated over the thigh or retracted back to give a more or less aggressive position as required. The thigh hook can be removed totally and the mounting used as a thigh grip on its own for paddlers with larger thighs or those who require less contact and more room to exit the boat.

Floater Ratchet Backrest: Improved with new short webbing runners that greatly reduce wear, tougher webbing straps and integrated with our ergonomic studies for the sitting position a totally new backrest pad that supports the lower back and helps reduce back problems.

Motion Control Hip Pads: integrated pre molded foam hip pads that are mounted off the backrest straps giving unparalleled energy transmission, feedback and paddler comfort.

Safety Features:

NEW High visibility 1000kgs (2,200lbs) end grabs incorporating strong (12Kn) bar tacked webbing that incorporates an insert that ensures it keeps its shape, is easy to handle and is accessible in even the most severe situations. Attached to two reinforced mounting points combine to make a safe and impressive step forward in modern end grab design.

NEW "Quick Clip" integrated Rescue Points, one mounted immediately in front and one behind the cockpit enabling easy and rapid access. Designed in cooperation with and manufactured by D.M.M. one of the worlds leading manufactures of climbing equipment. A strong (33kn) drop forged alloy bar in set in a reinforced mounting over a deep, wide karabiner specific recess that allows for immediate location when it matters. Independently tested to 800kgs (1760lbs) by DMM these are designed as rescue points first and security points second!

Reinforced foam pillars: front & rear give structural integrity and additional buoyancy

Shock Bloc footrest: Tough, removable ABS bulkhead with foam pads, lets our customers custom fit their boat
